Thinking the reason HPIA did not try downloading the latest softpaq was due having no HP Firmware Installer present on my device, I manually downloaded and installed and older SP105673, updating my dock unit to 1.0.9.0.

After connecting the dock to my laptop (HP Elitebook 850 G6, if it matters), I ran HPIA an see if it would update the dock's firmware.
